A speedboat crash in Missouri left eight people injured and needing hospital treatment when a vessel they were on ran aground and straight into the side of a house.
The crash occurred late Saturday night at the Lake of the Ozarks, southwest of St. Louis.
The impact after the boat ran aground flung all the passengers from the vessel as it overturned, close to the 1.3-mile mark of the Osage Arm.
The boat was a 2014 Nortech boat with powerful engines and a top speed close to 70 knots.
The passengers, consisting of four women and four men ranging between 21 and 51 years old, were seriously injured. The group were taken to Lake Regional hospital.

The boat’s driver, identified as 47-year-old Adam Ramirez from Huntington Beach, California, was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated with serious injury. His wife, Cathy Ho Ramirez, 48, left, was also on board and injured in the crash

Kyle Iltchi, 26, of Phelan, California, was also injured in the crash

Two of the victims were from Louisville, Mississippi; two were from Huntington Beach, California; one from Oak Hills, California; one from Glen Ellyn, Illinois; one from Phelan, California, and one from Niles, Michigan, according the arrest report.
It’s not clear if anyone inside the house suffered injuries from the collision.
The boat’s driver, identified as 47-year-old Adam Ramirez from Huntington Beach, California, was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated with serious injury.
Ramirez is known to be something of a powerboat enthusiast.
Later on Sunday, a crane was brought in to haul to boat away
The boat collided with the bank before slamming into the side of a house, flinging all eight passengers from the boat as it overturned

The investigation into the crash continued on Sunday.
Troopers spent time reconstructing the crash scene using a drone. Later on Sunday, a crane was brought in to haul to boat away.
