A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Cambridge early on Monday morning.
Police arrived at a property on Richmond Rad in the Waikato town at around 1.20am and found the woman dead at the scene.
"Police are making inquiries to locate the alleged offender, including in the wider Te Aroha area," police said in a statement.
He was arrested in Te Aroha, police say.

"We are speaking with the man and an update on charges will be provided when able," police said on Monday afternoon.
"We know this was a distressing incident for our Te Aroha and Cambridge communities and we want to thank them for their understanding while we made inquiries to locate him."

Police say they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the woman's death.
A scene examination at the address in Cambridge is continuing.
