BIOGRAPHY
Grandson of theater producer Sol Hurok, Peter Hyams became a journalist for the CBS television channel and in 1966 directed a documentary on the Vietnam War.

In 1974, he directed his first feature film entitled Les Casseurs de gang . But it was in 1979 that Peter Hyams achieved recognition with the sentimental drama War and Passion .

In the 1980s, the filmmaker specialized in science fiction ( Outland… far from the earth in 1981, 2010 in 1984) and thrillers ( Night of the Judges in 1983, Presidio, military base, San Francisco in 1988 ). From 2010, Peter Hyams, screenwriter of most of his films, also supervises the photography of his works.

In the 90s, he turned to action cinema: he directed Jean-Claude Van Damme in Timecop (1994) and Sudden Death (1995), and Arnold Schwarzenegger in The End of Times . In 2001, Peter Hyams directed D’Artagnan , a new version of The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.
